Hello and welcome to my website!
I'm a Scottish musician based in Glasgow, where I create atmospheric songs and instrumentals by layering flutes and vocals with ambient electronics and using looping technology.
I was delighted to complete my 10in10 project in 2015, through which I released 10 records in 10 months, on the 10th of every month! It was a big challenge and I've learned so much, now I'm working on my debut album.
I was thrilled to perform live on BBC Radio Scotland, STV Glasgow and Celtic Music Radio during the project. I'm also very pleased 10in10 featured regularly in The Herald Arts News as well as other local and national news and blog reviews - thank you :-)
Anther highlight was playing with the mighty Mogwai at Glasgow Barrowlands last year to two sell-out audiences last year! It was a fantastic experience to play with the band I first recorded with when I was 13. Continuing my tour of iconic Glasgow venues, I loved playing twice at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow's West End and Merchant City Festivals and at CCA in Ceòl is Craic's wonderful Gaelictronica event.
On 25th September I'll be playing at another legendary Glasgow venue, Nice 'n' Sleazy, supporting the excellent Flawes - can't wait for that! Tickets £7 - available here: http://shonabrown.bigcartel.com
I'm busy working on some new material for my album and trying to master my Crystall Ball, a laser operated instrument I've begun to introduce to my live set and some other new gadgets! I've also been out collecting some interesting field recordings that I'll be incorporating - amongst others, look out for the The Ringing Stone from Tiree!
Hope you're having a great summer!
PS If you'd like to join my email, list I'll send you another free download of a track of your choice :-)
